One of the animals on Vancouver Island that I most admire is the Blue Heron. I like to frequent the Comox Valley Air Park along the K’omoks Estuary because there is always so much activity, and you can almost always count on seeing at least one Blue Heron. Whether standing on shore, wading in the water, or gliding through the air, they are one of the most graceful and stunning animals. They have a tranquility that is catching, and the sense of calm in their quiet solitude is something I think we could all use more of in our lives.
